Bristol Fashion Week: AW16

The season has changed, the leaves are starting to turn orange and fall from the trees which means it is time for Bristol Fashion Week at The Mall, Cribbs Causeway. This years show was hosted by Mark Heyes and new host Henry Holland and I managed to bag FROW 'platinum' seats. As per tradition I went along with my lovely mother, who seems to be in a slight fashion revolution at the moment, to see what the High Street has to offer for the coming season.

The shows feature high street stores from the centre such as Marks & Spencer, Karen Millen, Next, John Lewis, Coast and River Island across a series of themed scenes. The overall theme for the show this year was The Art of Fashion linking scenes with various art movements. One of my favourite scenes was from John Lewis and Pandora featuring winter pastels with a dreamy pink and grey knit outfit. I'm definitely going to be seeking out that one in the centre over the weekend.

Sorry for the blurred quality here but I just love the pink & grey outfit
I won't give too much away about the shows but I have a serious wishlist now and some of my hero pieces are featured below:

Pink Coat // Pleated Midi Skirt // Velvet Shoes // Bow Sleeve Bardot Top // Leopard Print Boots // Ruffle Dress

After the show you are invited back into The Mall to collect your goody bag which comes in a gorgeous BFW tote bag. Inside the goody bag this year were treats such as coconut water, suncream (how very seasonal?!) and some lovely make up & perfume samples. There is also a fantastic art of fashion guide which features loads of discounts for the stores in the centre and the surrounding area and a guide to the trends of the season.

Bristol Fashion Week doesn't just stop at the shows, oh no, over the weekend there is also a pamper zone set up in the centre of The Mall featuring free beauty treats, advice and consultations including mini manicures, indian head massage, reflexology and cosmetic makeovers so it's well worth a visit, plus it's right next to the new Prosecco bar, Scavi & Ray - who have very kindly put a voucher for free prosecco in the goody bag - it would practically be rude not to.

The shows are running at Cribbs Causeway in their Fashion Pavillion until Sunday 2nd October and tickets can be found here if anyone fancy's popping along.

Have you ever been to Bristol Fashion Week?

Love Rachel x
