Recipe | A Christmas Gin Cocktail

A Christmas Gin Cocktail

Tomorrow is christmas eve and I love being able to celebrate finishing work for a while and defeating the christmas wrapping. I also love gin. I get my love of gin from my grandad and every year I get a number of bottles from him so we can share in our love and I love this fruity twist on a traditional gin & tonic, or in our case gin & lemonade. We've both never understood tonic.

The lime in this cocktail compliments the gin, cranberries add a hint of christmas and an optional cinnamon stick gives a mulled spice which warms you inside. It also doesn't require any real mixing and still tastes delicious.

Method:

Take a couple of gorgeous tumblers, fill half full with cranberry laced ice cubes and add 50ml of gin (double shot - because it is christmas). Garnish with the slices of apple and a slice of lime and top up the glass with the appetiser.  For the warm spice, mix your cocktail with your cinnamon stick.

It's a quick, easy and simple cocktail to make allowing more time to relax and look over the beautifully wrapped presents under the tree with satisfaction. It's also a perfect cocktail for Christmas Day being so easy and delicious and through to New Year.

What's your favourite tipple for christmas?
