Beauty | A Tour of EF Medi Spa, Bristol

A Tour of EF Medi Spa, Bristol

When it comes to beauty I am all for focussing on skincare first before make up, as it's the base to how your make up looks. I'm also for any treatments which can make you feel a million pounds. It turns out I can get this just a 15 minute drive from my house.

On Thursday I was lucky enough to be invited to the 1st birthday event for EF Medi Spa Bristol on Whiteladies Road. The Medi Spa is the first one in the West Country alongside three London locations and is a medical spa and skin clinic which uses innovative technologies for a range of non-invasive and slightly invasive treatments through to surgical options.

I arrived to the party slightly late straight from work, due to the summer holiday getaway on the motorway, and slightly underdressed. I was greeted at the entrance by a topless butler with a fresh glass of fizz complete with strawberries. Really, what more can a girl want? After getting the opportunity to mingle with the other guests and finally put some faces to the lovely local ladies I talk to on social media I was taken on a tour of the spa.

The first rooms we entered were the laser treatment rooms, one for treatments such as thread veins and tattoo removal and one for hair removal. Their laser hair removal is said to be pain-free due to the device being constantly in motion. Having had laser hair removal on some very sensitive areas a few years ago this intrigues me as I know from my own experience it wasn't pain free, but it also wasn't in motion. I'm currently trying IPL hair removal at home otherwise I would have signed up on the evening for this treatment.

After the 'laser' rooms we went to rooms which focus on their other innovative technologies. The device in the photo above is for light-based skin treatments which can be tailored to each patients skin to provide them with the best results whilst avoiding the UV spectrum of light. It can treat the worst eczema through to 'backne', back acne, and be utilised within facials.

The next room featured a device which I would have thought to be mythical. A fat buster also officially known as Reduce by Vanquish. It uses multipolar radiofrequency energy to basically breakdown your fat cells over a number of sessions while all you experience is a feeling of warmth on the area being treated similar to sunbathing. This room is also used for their cellulite busting treatments too.

One of the final rooms we were shown was where you can go to Drip and Chill. Vitamin drip therapy was something that I thought was for celebrities. It turns out I was completely wrong. Vitamin Drips are tailored to each individual and their needs be it for additional supplements such as iron to counter anaemia or to help with athletic performance or relieve stress through balance within the body.

The Medi Spa also has lots of areas for relaxation and wellness. Even though I was in the city centre, the balcony and the snug felt like little havens to really escape the hustle-bustle of city life. I'd really quite like to have breakfast on their balcony every day.

Visiting the Medi Spa I have a really long mental list of treatments that I really want to go back and try. I'm really intrigued by their skin treatments and would love to see if they could solve the skin 'psoriasis' issue on the back of my head. There are treatments which I know my mum would love including the facials. Speaking to their staff, who have an astounding knowledge of each treatment which blew me away, I would feel completely at ease having any treatment done. I genuinely can't wait to go back.
