So this might be a little late for the season but I thought I would share with you all the staple summer shoes which have seen me through the season. British summertime is always a struggle with the weather as you can put on your sandals, take 10 steps out of the house and be met with a downpour of rain. If you follow me on Instagram then you will know from stories that British summertime weather is the pain in my summer shoe style backside.
Nude Heel
To me a nude heel is my summer event shoe of choice. It's incredibly rare that you see me at a summer wedding not in a nude heel. I mean if it's Kate Middleton's staple then it will 100% be mine too.
Ballet Slipper
Maybe it's the fact that I do ballet that draws me into a pale pink ballet slipper but they are just so easy to pair with everything. They look great with jeans, skirts, shorts, well everything really. They are lightweight for the summer weather but provide a bit more protection that your summer sandals from those dreaded puddles which have the ability to form mid-step.
Nude Loafer
Nude Loafers are probably a good alternative to the ballet slipper although I can't choose between them. I just don't think it's fair, I imagine it would be like choosing between your children. Theses loafers I found were in Primark for just £6. With a price like that I couldn't resist although Dorothy Perkins have some very similar ones which are also at a bargain price. I love the laser cut design which allow your feet to breathe when it gets hot and being a nude shoe they lengthen your leg. This is essential for petite girls like me.
Glitter Flat
Can't bear the thought of a heel for that special occasion? Look no further the glitter flat is here to save the day. I saw these beauties in Next for just £25 and again I couldn't leave them behind. The glitter adds that sense of occasion without causing the pain and pressure of a heel. My only advice would be to break these in around the house first as the glitter can mean they take a little longer than your standard flat.
