Fashion | Bristol Fashion Week AW17 with Concorde

Fashion | Bristol Fashion Week AW17 with Concorde

Concorde. One of the worlds aeronautical wonders. London to New York in 3.5 hours. It was probably the most stylish way to fly. I grew up surrounded by pictures of Concorde at my grandads house as he was someone who worked on it and loved it. Now it has been honoured for it's style by Bristol Fashion Week AW17.

Dior and Louis Vuitton are known for their dazzling catwalk locations and this seasons Bristol Fashion Week launch show did not disappoint as it was held under the wings of Concorde 'herself' in 'her' new hangar and home at Bristol Aerospace. Not sure why I feel like concorde is a her, but that's the feeling I get.

I was lucky enough to get hold of two tickets to the launch show in question and I was not left disappointed. You might have seen from my instastories how epic the setting was and I managed to sit front row. I felt like I was a celeb. Maybe the complimentary prosecco from Scavi & Ray helped with that a little.

Bristol Fashion Week happens twice every year at the beginning of each new season just after all the major Fashion Week's around the world. What I love about Bristol Fashion Week is that all the looks are made up using high street pieces which you can literally go to the shops and buy straight after. It's amazing and incredibly dangerous for your bank account. This danger is also increased by the fact you get a 'boarding pass' full of competitions to enter and discounts from the brands and stores featured in the shows.

The scenes in the show this year were featured around the key trends of the season from 'Red to Toe' to Urban and Seventies. The looks which come down the catwalk look high end fashion and embrace the trends in a way which is also wearable. You can sit there and imagine how good the pieces would be on you and in your wardrobe. The shows also help inspire me to step out of my comfort zone and embrace pieces that normally I'd leave behind on the rail.
