So Christmas can be incredibly stressful. From organising the Christmas Feast to choosing the perfect presents for your loved ones, which is only heightened by how busy and in demand everywhere and everything is. This year I've decided to tackle everything early and have some me time to get rid of the stress before the big day. Here are my tips to achieve it:
Visit a Spa
We all spend the festive period trying to make everything perfect for the ones we love, but sometimes we can really neglect the person who should really be number one in our lives - ourselves. I strongly believe that we should give a gift to ourselves in the build up to Christmas to improve wellness and to basically keep us sane. It may be getting your nails or hair done, or it could be just booking a date in with Netflix and the Duvet. For me it was visiting Bristol Harbour Spa and indulging in 3 hours of relaxation in their amazing facilities and then limbering up with a Salt & Oil Scrub and 25 minute massage. To say I came out rejuvenated is probably an understatement.
The Harbour Spa in Bristol is ideal because it's intimate. No big pools full of couples being a little too touchy feely. Just perfectly sized, well-kept facilities in an amazing setting. Who knew having a massage in an old bank vault or swimming under underground brick arches could be so relaxing?
Make Lists for Everything
Now I love to be organised and lists really do save the day. It helps with controlling my spending for the festive season but also ensuring that nobody is left out. Ticking off items is also ridiculously satisfying! You should really try it.
Tackle Everything Early
The early bird really does catch the worm, especially at Christmas when things sell out insanely quickly. Especially those must-have toys. In my opinion it's never to early to start. This year I started in October which I think is a fair time to start picking up bits and bobs. By starting early I also get to spread the cost of Christmas across a couple of months rather than my December pay check taking it all in one massive hit.
How do you like to de-stress at Christmas?
