Hello 2019.
I can't believe we are quite meeting so soon. It feels like it was just yesterday that I was, in the words of Charli XCX, partying like it was 1999. Which for me would be getting hyper on ice cream coke floats and banging pots and pans in the street to see in the millennium.
In 2018, I came really close to burning out multiple times so this year it's all about self-love, doing the things I enjoy and embracing JOMO, the Joy of Missing Out.
Now anyone who knows me will know that I like having goals to motivate me but I've always done this, no matter what time of year, and while I will be setting 'goals' they will be things I want to achieve so I can grow, not change, as a person. I'm also going to set these in small measures throughout the year as along with growing as a person, my goals will change and grow too.
My first few mini goals are to help me get the most out of skiing in February. Last year was my first ski trip and I have to admit I struggled, and not just with staying upright. My fitness levels meant that I tired before everyone else and had to stop more because I was out of breath and had the most horrible pains in my shins and knees. So here are my pre-ski goals:
- Give up Alcohol until skiing (pretty sure all I've drunk is Prosecco from December 1st)
- Work Out/Exercise a minimum of 3 times a week with a focus on legs, bum, core & cardio
- Have 3 days a week minimum where I don't spend anything to help save for ski spending money
I also want to do last year's Yoganuary by Cat Meffan to help with my posture, flexibility and strength to aid Ballet.
I've started a bullet journal to help me track and record some stepping stones as I know I'm more motivated where the is a visual record of what I've done or working towards. I've already set it up with all the things I'm super excited to see/do this year that are already in the calendar.
- To finally take my mum to see the Tulip fields in Amsterdam after years of broken promises.
- To go on my second ever ski trip.
- To see the Spice Girls live after way too many years of waiting.
- To pass my second year of uni, and complete my 4th year of study for my degree.
- To see George Ezra live again.
- To go to Oceanfest with the greatest bunch of friends.
Finally I have two magic numbers that I'm looking to achieve with Instagram and Pinterest - because I just couldn't not set a goal for them.
On Instagram I want to reach 5,000 followers. On Pinterest, I simply want to achieve 100k impressions in a month. That's it.
I'll be documenting my mini goals on Instagram stories so make sure to follow me if you want regular updates. There's also Pinterest and Bloglovin' where you might like to follow me too!
